FilmMan
Another camera possible. http://www.apertus.org/ http://www.apertus.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=504 First come, first serve. Black Magic is leading the way as it has a working model. Kineraw has a working model too. Black Magic's visual video image is very refreshing, sort of like a baby Arri or F35 image??? I'm not making this statement based only on viewing posted video. The BM image is better than most realize (but with proper tweaking). More video is needed to make a better assessment. Will Canon respond in May? Competition leads to more advancements, at least we hope.
Leang
I think this all started with those miniature 2/3 CCD security cameras (with C type mounts) that standardized remote control software, and hackers realized they could recreate an interface. people don't realize but there are many companies that specialize in sensor technology for many professional fields of imagery. this has been around for a LONG time. just because a sensor developing company markets '4K' doesn't necessarily mean you're going to get an image like an F65! a sensor is nothing without the many other outsourced processors and mainboards. this is the main reason to why products are expensive. again, A SENSOR IS NOTHING WITHOUT SPECIALIZED PROCESSORS. as geeky as it may sound, but just imagine computer engineering geeks talking about which future processors will make which sensor ''the best.'' cool links btw.
