1tkman
What about power? Is purchasing a separate battery an option (as a back up) Seems like a good idea to me (?) I apologize if this isn't an option with this camera, I am just not familiar and haven't read the specs. Curious what others had planned. Julian
I'll just get a spare battery. There's plenty of juice in them. You can get a battery grip to fit two of them. I think it's the same as the GH3
Michael1
Some videos are starting to show up now, some good, some not so good over the past week.
aokman
I just ordered 2 x 128gb U3 Transcends from B&H. Didn't even consider that they might not work in the GH4. Surely Panasonic would have thought about it given the 200mbit bitrate... Anyone from Australia heard any ETA info. So desperate to get my GH4 by May 17th :(
jonpais
I'm waiting to hear from DigitalRev when the camera will be available in Hong Kong, since it'll never be released in Vietnam :(
Smeeth123
B&H now lists their expected availability for the GH4 for tomorrow, April 25th.
Orangenz
Anyone from Australia heard any ETA info. So desperate to get my GH4 by May 17th :( Panasonic NZ on facebook has said in the shops definitely the first week of May. If that's of any help. Best regards on this Anzac Day. Jacek
Panasonic representative [Panasonic Marketing Europe, Department in Poland] also told me, that GH4 should be available from beginning of May - in Poland. So it looks like GH4 global availability is planned for around beginning of May. Orangenz
jypfoto
I'm getting one delivered this morning in the US from ephotocraft. Pairing it with the Transcend 64GB card. Julian

I think it's the same as the GH3 Silly question I asked... didn't realize an extra battery was $12! :) I'm accustomed to portable power always being an issue, which is not the case with this camera. 1tkman

Christina Ava
its still on pre-order in cvp where i get most of my stuff, but is it wise to get the first models that come out?
Orangenz
its still on pre-order in cvp where i get most of my stuff, but is it wise to get the first models that come out? The first model was the GH1. The GH4 is quite a ways down the track.
Pascal Garnier
@Christina : considering the reviews of preproduction models, I wouldn't worry about the quality of these cameras. Also, Panasonic has a very good track record of fixing stuff with firmware updates. I just called the shop where I preordered mine, and apparently plenty of people preordered. I'm not even sure if they'll be able to help all of us within the first week of release. So anyone ordering today or next week, will probably have to wait quite some time before getting their camera. KarimNassar
any of you guys pre-ordered it with the yagh?
Orangenz
Has arrived in NZ today (Friday) so should be in retail stores from Monday 5th at the earliest. Pretty sweet worldwide release logistics. Great news everyone, the DMC-GH4 has just arrived and will be in stores early next week!!! — Panasonic NZ (@PanasonicNZ)
akhen
Update from Italy: my dealer has just told me Panasonic Italia will start shipping GH4 on Monday 12th.
aokman
My GH4 has arrived from B&H, cost me quite a bit more than buying in Australia but atleast I got it! jonpais
As you probably already know, Panasonic isn't interested in the Vietnam market, so I've been waiting for a Hong Kong or Malaysia release. DigitalRev is taking preorders but I think they're asking US $2,500? Maybe a mistake? Having it shipped here is out of the question, as customs will charge me an additional 20-25%. Maybe YL Camera in Kuala Lumpur, where I got my GH3, for the same price as in the States. No hurry anyhow: still gotta save up
