I do prefer native lenses but the Sigma Speedbooster combo works really well! Screengrabs from GH5 + Speedbooxter XL + Sigma 35/1.4 + Black Pro Mist 1/4. Edit. Oh yeah, thanks to @jase and @kidzrevil for introducing me to Black Pro Mist, and other, filters. Need to buy that combo in 3 .. 2 .. 1 .. Carz
Curious how the black pro most filter would look with either the 30mm or 16mm sigma.

But DAMN 40mm is just the perfect focal length for me, I like it a lot. When I heard that Voigtländer created a lens with such crazy aperture I was sold. If I werent that invested in M43 and preferred Panasonic over Sony, I would be tempted to make the switch just for this lens. Perfection. My favorite lens was the Voigtlander 40mm f2 Ultron before this. I made the mistake of renting the 1.2, now I have to figure out what to sell to keep it The subject separation is insane. kidzrevil and jase
noone
On the subject of favourite lenses. Mine has to be the Canon 17 f4 L TS-E "17-35 zoom" A couple of video screen grabs when mucking around with it this morning at about 1.4x and as normal. mercer
TheRenaissanceMan
The 50mm Summicron-R does magical things wide open... And some pretty cool things stopped down, too. mercer and kidzrevil

Super Members Mattias Burling Posted January 29, 2018 Super Members Share Posted January 29, 2018 The Canon 35mm f1.8 LTM can get some (imo lovely) swirl even with a m4/3 camera (the old gm1). I wasn't blown away on the FF A7. It was decent on the APS-H Leica. But definitely cool on MFT. Will have to try it on APS-C this week. meudig
Been playing some with the Canon FDn 50 1.4, with the Roxsen focal reducer. First one wide open, second one is stopped down to 'bout f4.

cantsin
My favorite go-to-always-on photography lens is the Canon EF-M 22mm/f2. It's so good - with distortion-free light wide-angle optics, good sharpness even wide open, fast and silent autofocus in an incredibly small pancake design - that I switched to EOS-M as my street photography/always-in-my-bag camera system. (With the EOS-M100, there is finally a really good compact body. That said, I use Sony A7 for full frame/low light photography & MFT/Blackmagic for video). Since Mattias is posting his dog... (Shot at ISO 25600 & 12800.)
Matt Kieley
I had to sell my G7, so to get the most out of my EOS M, I'm sticking to crop mode with c-mount lenses. I've added a Cosmicar 6mm 1.2 and Tokina 12.5-75mm 1.2 lenses to my c-mount lens collection. I tested all of them along with my Meteor 5-1 17-69mm 1 lens from my K3 16mm camera. All are tested wide open. I don't plan on shooting wide open all the time, but I wanted to test sharpness and DOF at wide open apertures. Tokina 12.5-75mmmm at 12.5mm Tokina at 50mm: Meteor 5-1 at 17mm: Meteor at 69mm: Cosmicar 6mm: Cosmicar 8.5mm: Cosmicar 12.5mm: Kern Paillard 26mm: Love this set-up so far. mercer and PannySVHS
mercer
So, as much as I love my Canon lenses, I am having a lot of fun messing around with vintage lenses and ML Raw. I still cannot believe how amazing the Minolta 35mm 1.8 is on the 5D3. Here are a few more shots... My next big goal is to convert a 58mm 1.2. But in the meantime, I think I’m going to buy a Helios... it is one vintage lens that has eluded me for the past 5 years. I found one that is listed as New Other in EF Mount? Did the Soviets make a Helios in the EF Mount? I believe it’s the 44-M 7... maybe? Also has anyone used any of the new Zenit Helios lenses? I saw a 50mm 1.2 that looks intriguing. And here’s one more from the Minolta. Also I want to add so there isn’t any confusion to some users that are unaware... Minolta lenses will not adapt to Canon EF without having the lens modified. There are adapters but they have a corrective glass inside that is not of good quality. meudig, jase, PannySVHS and 1 other
