Michael1
I still haven't seen ANY footage from the A7S that looks really convincing in terms of colour. >
utsira
Come on Sony, give us a truly top of the line APSC camera. An A7000 with mic inputs, s-log 2, XAVCS.
Mozim
This certainly isn't the most practical solution but using the A7S in crop mode with a Speedbooster gives you roughly the same field of view as full frame but rolling shutter is far better than in full frame mode. Guest d5f8611fa423d0e628c016f9d5c93b47
Hmmm. Probably the best daylight A7s video I've seen in terms of colour, but it still didn't look great imo. Everything else about it was great, but the colour looks rather pastel/thin to me. Of course this could be a grading choice, but every daylight A7s video I've seen looks like this. I'm worried you just can't saturate the colours without them falling apart. Show me something as punchy as the GH4 or even 5DIII h264 and I'll happily eat my words. For me this is much more of an issue than rolling shutter ... This has been posted before but it gets the point across: Inazuma

Administrators Andrew Reid Posted July 9, 2014 Administrators Share Posted July 9, 2014 Corrected the typo! It is just me here, no team of guys running the blog though there are mods helping me with the forum. Maybe I need a proof reader as well ;)
Ed_David
You are working really hard Andrew - and its such an amazing resource. EOSHD is the best! It's a long hard job but I hope you enjoy it!
pablogrollan
This "indie" film trailer was shot with the a7s -doesn't specify if crop or FF- and the RS does not look that terrible. I had a Nikon D90 back in the day and be sure this wouldn't have been possible no matter the rolling shutter repair tools used...
