GM1 video battery life?

Found a big thread about the GM1 here, and the question was asked several times but no owner answered.

How long can video can be recorded on a single charge with the Panasonic gm1?

Panasonic rates the battery life in video at an overly optimistic 40 minutes. In fact, it is at most probably around 25-30 minutes. You'll definitely need several spares if you're planning on shooting all day long.

Last week I used it as a b cam on a shoot and just let it run using the OEM bat... Ran for just over 60 minutes. 30p 1080.

That's uninterrupted recording, btw. I have a handful of 3rd party batteries that only do about 1/2 the juice of the OEM. Of course the 3rd party bats are a lot cheaper.

That seems amazing for 600mA. Thanks for replying. I looked around the net and couldn't find an answer.

Shame the camera seems perfect other than small battery and lacks 1080p60. Though the latter I suppose I could do without and can always get extra batteries I suppose.

Yep.  Battery swaps are pretty easy and the 3rd party batteries are cheap.  Personally, I really like this camera.  It's unassuming and very stealthy, but has awesome quality.  Fun stuff.
