iscoschmisko
Isco Ultra Star CA HD lens Disassembling Hi, I bought a Isco Ultra Star Ananmorphic Attachment HD Lens see foto. It got delivered in two parts: - Front Anamorph - Back Lens - including screws Before i bought the lens the seller told me that i wouldn't need the back lens for the anamorphic effect, just the front and a taking lens. Saidly, I can't reach the seller anymore. Question: How do i use the anamorphic lens in front of my taking lens (Nikkor ai 1.4 50mm). I also bought a lens clamp. THe problem i have is that no matter what i do i can't get a sharp image through both lenses. Combination of anamorph front + back lens + taking lens gives me a sharp image but gives me a lot of vignetting and makes it pretty heavy. The back lens part measures 7.8cm. leaving an empty space of 7,8cm between ana and talking lens does not help. Camera in use nikon d300 crop factor 1.5 any help much appreciated Big THX Edit Sorry image is out of focus will upload a sharper foto after work. andy lee
it looks like you have removed the rear element of the anamorphic lens ! which is critical to make it work if this lens was supplied to you like that then some idiot has unscrewd the rear of the anamorphic lens thinking they dont need it !! that's not a spherical taking lens on the back its the rear element of the anamorphic lens. send it back its a load of bother to re align the rear element it has to be critically set to make the lens be sharp
ken
WOW, how you did that? This attachment is the sharpest lens I have over 10 others. But needs 100mm(eqv FL) to get rid of vignetting. And the weight is more than 1.2kg too.
iscoschmisko
Thanks Andy,Ken After your explanation i now understand that both lenses (front and back) are anamorphic lenses. The realignment is no problem at all cause there are screw markings on both bodys. What i don't understand is why that guy told me that i won't need the back part of the lens. Are there anamorphic taking lenses...what was his point? I don't get it. Thank U!
