Guest
"All we were told is that the viewfinder will be interchangeable, as well as “other parts of the cameraâ€. We’re trying to find out what else would be removable on a DSLR." Well the logical conclusion would be the mirror. I look forward to not being able to afford a camera 1/3 the price of this one ... Guest
Well it's very weird but in a way it makes a lot of sense. It's clear that they don't want to disrupt their DSLR market. But they need to dip their toe into the pro mirrorless market sooner or later. A high-cost, speciality camera like this would be a way to test the water without stirring things up too much. And with it being a cinema camera, they won't have to field any accusations of "conceding" that DSLR's are on the way out (for stills). Guest Ebrahim Saadawi
I have always wondered why doesn't Canon make a Electronic view finder that attaches to the hot shoe of all their DSLRs and covers the OVF, it seems like an easy design and would make the best of both worlds, if you want an OVF, use it, if you want an EVF, here you go. It seems like a no brainer especially now after mirror-less uprising and people using their EVFs for video.
