dijouan
Hello all, I'm quite new to the film making and it is also my very first post here on EOSHD. I just bought a G6 body and as i previously owned a panasonic lens, Vario 7-14 , i was wondering if it could be good enough to use it along with the G6 specially for video shoots. Does someone has some experience with this lens + G6 ? Or do you advice to use something else that could be more adapted for video with this camera ? Thanks in advance Didier
JazzBox
I had a very similar setup (G6 and an Olympus 9-18), but it all depends for the "look" you are after. 7-14 (and 9-18) gives you a very wide image. You could need a 20 or 25 mm (that becomes 40 - 50mm in m43) for "normal" shots and a 42.5 (or 45 or 50) for close up and portraits.
andy lee
its a very wide lens - you might want to get something like the Panasonic 14-42mm to go with it so you have asome longer focal lengths covered. JazzBox
Guest 560a4aedcb80685284629074497fdc75
Drew Gupta (DrewNet) describes the 7-14 as having "distortion from hell itself!" And that's on the BMPCC  Also, I don't think you can screw an ND on it. Not a video lens really, if you want honesty. Anyone here watch DrewNetwork's videos on YT? I think he's awesome... From what I remember he went on to say he liked the lens. I like Drew as well. wish he would come back.

Yeah, I do. Been a fan since the GH2-series almost three years ago. :D He's a great guy! What about a Tokina 11-16mm f/2.8 (Nikon mount) with a focal reducer (that's what I use for wide angle)?
