Cinegain Posted December 11, 2014 Share Posted December 11, 2014 I think your camera must've been on auto exposure (and perhaps even spot or center-weighted metering). So first, the camera exposes for a dark table, then you put something relatively bright on top, it changes exposure to compensate. If that's not what you want, take matters into your own hands (which I would recommend anyways) and use manual everything. Sometimes automation can be a good thing and for some purposes it really comes in handy. But if you dictate what happens, well... you know what will happen (hopefully).
