Dee Joslin
I bought the Sony FMP-X10 because one of the features was that it played H265 HEVC files. I hooked up my NX1 to the USB and the import screen came up. The files play flawlessly.

Dee Joslin
Sony support H265 HEVC, not necessarily NX1. It is hardware.
Administrators Andrew Reid Posted January 12, 2015 Administrators Share Posted January 12, 2015 Why is the PC industry so late to the party here?PS4 has the hardware & software for HVEC but not PC / Mac. Silly!!
Nikkor
I don't know if the ps4 has hardware for it, but in this case it's an hardware player http://store.sony.com/sony-4k-ultra-hd-media-player-zid27-FMPX10/cat-27-catid-All-Internet-Players
Brian Flint
Today I discovered H265 HVEC files will play on Windows media player without any problems , this includes 1920x1080 50p, 3840x2160 25p, 4096x2160 24p ( all original files from the NX1 which I downloaded ) . I have windows 8.1 on my pc. There must have been a windows update in the last day or so for this to happen. I also can play H265 HVEC files which I have converted using Handbrake from various H264 coded video files. Note all of these H265 HVEC video files will also play on the MPC-HC player. MattH
Interesting that Sony support it.Is their player exclusive to the PS4 or is there a PC version as well?Thats not a ps4. It's the player itself. A black box you attach to your tv like a vcr. It does look a lot like a ps4 though.
