leeys
Yea, I'm curious. Why 2.5k? It is a bit of an oddball size.
Steve M.
why? Because there are those jobs that I just don't need a 4K master, and the added resolution of 2.5, the little bit of reframe of 2.5, the faster transcode from H.265 with 2.5, that's why! Marcio Kabke Pinheiro
yes nx1 is much better in low light than the lx100, even though they have same photosite area (better bsi technology and noise is reduced by scaling down the croped 23,6Mpix down to 8,8mpix, the lx100 is just a 8,8mpix crop) : same night scene iso 800 (already too much noise for the lx100)lx100 : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVaA0840d3Mnx1 (+samyang 24mm f1.5) : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4gdrFX2oFDw guess who wins i am in also to buy nx500 but i'll wait to see samples first because samsung should in all logic limit video quality on purpose to avoid stepping on the toes of the nx1warning: 800 is the sweet spot for nx1 above that it falls appart and 3200 is terribly bad for a unknown reason Thanks, that was exactly the kind of footage that I was looking for. ntblowz
Dunno why the LX100 was shooting at F2.2 even though the max aperture is F1.7 but NX1 shooting at F1.5.
jpb
is somebody knowing the allocation of the six contactsaround the flash triggering one in the hot shoe of the nx500 ? (see pict)Since there is no 3.5mm jack audio input nor headphone output on this camera,am I wrong thinking there is a chance analog audio signals can be transmittedthrough these contacts? Geoff CB
This? http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/smart-camera-camcorder/smart-nx/smart-nx-accessories/ED-EM10Can anyone confirm this works with the NX1? Might purchase it for run&gun situations. Like the ability to switch modes.
jpb
This?http://www.samsung.com/uk/consumer/smart-camera-camcorder/smart-nx/smart-nx-accessories/ED-EM10Yes that is it !Which means we can easily wire in the output of a zoom H2 or H4n to add aprofessionnal sound to the images. Thanks Marco. Marco Tecno
I cannot confirm it works with nx1/nx500, but I would guess so. I remembered this mic from the "age" of older nx models. I've been a nx user since 2011 so I guess I know "almost" everything about this system :-) But to be sure that this mic works with the latest models, one should get it and test. No mic input, just audio monitoring on this unit.
xenogears
By the way, someone knows if a EVF will be available for the NX500, the NX20 has one, a optional one, so i guess that this could done, right? because this camera is killing me but no EVF is a no-no to me. Marco Tecno
All the "xxx" nx cameras never had an evf option, with the exception of nx100 (the first of its kind). But nx100 had an additional plug for the evf. Nx500 has no plug, so I'll bet on "no evf for it".
