Steve M.
Has anyone hooked an external monitor to the NX1 for field work? If so, what model and what is your assessment?
neosushi
I hooked an external TV (Samsung) once - outputting 1080p while recording 4K. The image was extremely contrasted and saturated on the tv. Looked kinda weird. Was happy afterward to check my footage on my computer and notice that everything was fine... So not a great experience from my part. But very limited experience too. Not so relevant I guess...
Laurence D
I have been using a field monitor for some time now, image is fine but.. there are problems:*can't use higher frame rates than standard (maybe monitors than can accept high fps HDMI will work)*Focus assist will not work ..Samsung acknowledges thisThere are a few other minor things greyed out in the menu with an HDMI monitor attached, however 4K works as the HDMI output can be set to HD.At the moment the best work around is to use a large field monitor to help focusing & have a zacuto lupe on standby for higher HD frame rates. If you get any more knowledge please let me know. PS Android phone monitoring gives touch screen focusing + camera control, however the frame rate is about 6fps & I don't think the white balance controls are v comprehensive (on board camera controls overridden so no K white balance). May try new android tablet..samsung?
