But the results from a $700 consumer camera speak for themselves. To me it will always be big news that aspiring filmmakers have access to this kind of image quality for $700, regardless of how much effort and money is required for good content.Read full article

johnnymossville
Those are really nice. I like the retro look of the welterwerk one. Here's one I heard about last week that's really well done. On a GH2 as well. http://vimeo.com/44108567
Simco123
Sp the Pentacpn lens is soft and gives the Gh2 a cinematic softness over sharpenes electronic look yet 5DIII is criticised for delivering cinematic softness and not sharpness. Make up your mind ???
Administrators Andrew Reid Posted June 26, 2012 Author Administrators Share Posted June 26, 2012 No Simco, not lack of 'sharpness' but a lack of detail. Soft detail is nice. Learn to know the difference between soft vintage optics and a smeary image which is the result of an electronic process, and I'll forgive you for that comment!! The lighting is almost as good as the camera. ;) Thanks for posting everyone and keep em coming.
johnnymossville
Since we are posting (GH2 shot) music videos, here's another great looking one. http://vimeo.com/40089207 Not 100% this is GH2.
cultureshot
Okay, where are you finding $700 GH2s? The American MSRP is $999 with the kit lens. Here in Canada it's even worse - $899 body only and a whopping $1449 with the 14-140mm lens. I know there are deals to be had in the used market, but even then most I've seen are in the $1000 range. Am I missing some cheap source of GH2-ness?
Ernesto Mantaras
"Welterwerk" and "Cronofóbico" are great. That Rob Vegas video was really good too. Here's something that doesn't par, but it's a music video that I made with my GH2 that had just arrived two days before! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KZ44i0Woa6E The only kinda vintage lens is a Minolta Rokkor-X, 50mm 1.7 (cost me 60 dollars), and I think it shows in the shot where I used it. I have two more videos coming, one of which is exactly what I like the most when shooting for bands: telling a story with a rock song as the music score. Kickass
http://vimeo.com/43572234 This video was shot with the gh2 and a lomo 28mm + a 35mm flektogon for closeups..

Checked vimeo this morning, and was wondering how the heck we got 2500 views on a single day ;D The welterwerk-crew sends its regards! - Christian Ekrem

Zacka
I thought i would add in the video clip i did for an Australian band. Its not at the level of these other clips but its was the first clip i've done and had no budget. It was Filmed on the GH2 with a combination of the Pany 14mm 2.5, Vivitar 20mm and the Canon Fd 28, 50 and 85. Two shots were on a 7D with a Tokina 11-16 because i needed the widest angle and didnt have access to the 14. The best shots are from 3:48 https://vimeo.com/41116664

alanpoiuyt
Here's my GH2 music video lo-fi mixed with some Super 8 at Venice Beach, CA. This band is taking off. I produced/mixed music, shot the vid and edited - you have to be a one-man record label nowadays - fun with the tools available to us all. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tRnB08nkaDs
FilmMan
The GH2 does rock! Not sure if this was ever posted. Ranks up there for image. https://vimeo.com/44625641
Paulo Teixeira
Michael is into green screen and one day I decided to fool around with green screen myself and then I said to myself, maybe I can try to make a green screen music video sort of for fun by using clones. I gave the family the idea, got some lights from TubeTape and here we go. The green material was cheap, it was shot in a room of the basement which really wasn't much so the lighting couldn't be in the best locations. The day I got their, I told the kids to basically act anyway they want. It was really a gamble choosing to do this without much experience in green screen but for some reason, I did it anyway. The hardest thing was trying to deal with the drums because the cymbals were reflecting the green. Basically all of the indoor scenes (mountain photo) except for the flying scenes were done by an unhacked GH2 +20mm lens. The flying scene were shot by their S95 camera and than Michael (13 at that time) edited it. As for the outdoor scenes, the swimming and trampoline were done by my SD600 and the rest of the outdoor scenes were basically footage that the family had and wanted to put it in. Again, this whole thing was sort of for fun so we fooled around with it. The editing was not that fun though but I lived to tell the story. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IR_ZbTIHiVk

Axel
Cronofóbico is great. The intro theme reminded me of Rick Wakemans The Six Wives Of Henry VIII. "Fear of time" is a first rate insult the 50p/60p users deserve, because they are afraid of their own motion-blurred shadows.
