SleepyWill
Why do you assume the women are brave? Just because women are "women" does not mean they cannot lie...http://www.chicagotribune.com/news/local/breaking/ct-uber-driver-rape-charge-dropped-met-20150406-story.htmlTo assume that the women brave is to assume that Bloom is guilty.. Without more evidence or a trial, In my book, that is wrong...Well if they are lying, that is brave too, no? In the same way that bank robbers are brave to do what they do, bravery isn't gendered with morality, unless you spent too long in hollywood. But tongue in cheek aside, you completely skipped the first part of my post, in which I applied the same standard to the man himself: I literally said that we can not make assumptions, how could you miss that, unless you are just looking for a fight. To be clear, you do this:- You treat PB as if he is innocent.- You treat the women as if he is guilty.- You condemn domestic violence.- You form an opinion, but be self aware enough to know that your opinion is only sacrosanct to yourself. To do anything else is to risk:- defending an abuser- bullying a victim of abuse- giving sympathy to a liar who damaged a career of someone- bullying an innocent manI would like to risk none of these, because all of those things would make me a dick. Because I don't know for fact and likely never will, this is the rules I live by.
Administrators Andrew Reid Posted April 9, 2015 Administrators Share Posted April 9, 2015 It is true, no court of law has ruled on this at all and therefore we should be careful about being judge jury and executioner on the internet. I am sure the truth will eventually be decided by a real judge and not us. I hope one day we can forgive Philip but he's got to tell the truth and come clean first.I hope it isn't true.I feel really twisted up inside about how to react... on the one hand to not react at all, to say nothing is to perform a cover up and deny a voice to the victim's allegations... that's the easy way to deal with it as most companies will do I am sure, just sit on the fence and not say a word and continue to work with Philip. I am not like that. I feel like I need to know the truth and take a stance either way.I would like to encourage people on this thread to show restraint and respect for the alleged victims and not to slander anyone out of anger however understandable that anger may be. I am for one, furious. Then we can get back to more positive subjects, like cameras! SleepyWill and Ed_David

Administrators Andrew Reid Posted April 9, 2015 Administrators Share Posted April 9, 2015 Second that gh2sound... we should all be careful that our opinions don't read like they are statements of fact. They are opinions based on (albeit it powerful) allegations.Everyone, let me know if you feel strongly about moving on from this topic and I will lock it. I find it quite dark, with a high potential for trouble.I am already very sad about what has happened and don't feel like discussing it much more in fact. Administrators Andrew Reid Posted April 9, 2015 Administrators Share Posted April 9, 2015 Because of a minority of users on this forum who want to continue to sling mud in various directions I am closing the thread now.Had to delete some nasty remarks. For those who kept it level-headed, thank you.Whatever the truth I hope for forgiveness and recovery for both sides. Philip Bloom isn't related to EOSHD in any way, right? To say nothing, is not covering it up. This fight (or whatever it is) doesn't belong on blogs and forums about cameras and filmmaking.Btw, I forgot about the fact that Kessler made products with Philips name on it. The press release makes sense with that knowledge (still think it could have been done in a more professional way though).
