Oliver Daniel
Maybe one of the most logical comments on this silly thread. As basic as this is, it takes a certain mild tempered person to get on with cats (who on the whole are very selfish creatures).I have this general mindset to be careful of people who don't get on with animals. Some people only suit themselves. That's scary. Human relationships are incredibly complex, and when they go very wrong other complex humans need to make complex decisions about doing something complex to the complex people involved. That's complex. In this world - there is relentless cruelty going on which most of us are blind to. Governments kill. Children are slaves. Animals are tortured. Livelihoods are destroyed. Citizens are brainwashed. Corporations fuel greed. Materialism is a God. Canon won't release an affordable cinema camera. I've got eczema. My dog stole my last sandwich. I like Ed David. I enjoy EOSHD. I appreciate Philip Blooms camera reviews. I love my fiancé. My dog is awesome. My cat is beautiful. My Mother is funny. My Dad is now a fantastic memory. I'm going to be a Dad. My brothers are talented. My life is personal. I'm sharing my life with strangers. Could all be lies. But it's not. It's the truth. It's only my truth, maybe not someone else's. Maybe I'm deluded. Do I actually have a cat and things like that? Are they good for me? I'm crazy. Pretending to be, accidentally on purpose. The moral of my post is.... Erm, there isn't one. It's subjective. Take from it what you want. Or don't. I'm just trying to make sense of this thread and realised I don't know Philip Bloom or Sarah and can't be any help to them by talking about it on a camera tech forum. Damn! Ed_David
Blooms statement - wow. My wife runs an emergency safe house for survivors of domestic violence, Bloom would have been better off simply saying its not true and I'm suing to get my reputation back - yet he went on the offensive. So many signs that anyone dealing with domestic violence will recognize. She came backShe didn't call the policeThe demeaning language used to describe the womenIn the U.S. its estimated that 1 in 3 women have been subjected to some form of abuse, whether its physical, verbal or sexual - yet only about 10% of them actually call the police. I'm working on a project where I interviewed a number of DV survivors - they all came back - and not just once but often multiple times, even after some were beaten so bad they were hospitalized. One woman I talked to was trying to leave her abuser - she was stabbed dozens of times by her boyfriend, then he doused her with gasoline and set her on fire. Its shocking and when you ask why they didn't leave or call the police and have the scumbag thrown in jail, the answers are pretty consistent - he loved me.Very few ever actually call the police, instead they felt it was somehow their fault, that things could change and despite pleas from family and friends - they try to stick it out and make it work, things will change. But they rarely change and usually escalate. Physical abuse and verbal abuse always go hand-in-hand, but its done out of love - he says we were in love, but she's a delusional, a troubled person. That's one of the red flags in a abusive relationship - the abuser is always the one with the power and demeaning language is part of the pattern of violence. The victim is worthless, continually remind them of the fact.If Bloom is innocent, shut up and lawyer up and file a defamation suit. Going on the offensive and attacking two women does little to help your cause and makes you look guilty.Thank you for writing this. Gives a very good background of information for domestic abuse. Ed_David
Ed, you can interview me, but there is two conditions: 1) I get to interview you on the exact same subject and 2) I get to record the entire process myself, with my kit, never touched by you and on the day your film is released I get to release the full, unedited, (but graded) uncut, unabridged interviews.Deal. Email me.

Neumann Films
I think this thread should be closed. It's not fucking right to run someone through the mud based on claims made over the internet. Years ago, I had some punks contact me saying they had hacked the Canon T2i to shoot 4K. I talked to them ON THE PHONE for an hour. They lied straight to me, for a couple weeks. I said I wanted to try it out and release a test video etc. They had me put up a little teaser giving a release date for the test video and all of this stuff. I remember several people that I looked up to in the industry (Mr. Bloom included) emailed me looking for details and encouraging me to make a good video because "the entire film making world is watching".The day of the release, they upload a Rick Ross video. The whole thing was a prank.People opened up threads LIKE THIS one saying that I was in on it, "just fishing for views" etc etc. I was livid, the whole thing took a really depressing turn and there was NOTHING I could do to prove my side of things. I felt like anything I did made us look more guilty. It was just...humiliating.I contacted the guys and I was pissed off (justified). He said that he was just trying to get our channel a lot of views because he was "such a big fan". Wow. I couldn't believe it. The sheer stupidity of that statement. He continued to comment on my videos using different YT profiles for a long time. I'm sure he still lurks the comments section in some form. I'm sure that incident still affects my reputation and peoples perception of me to this day. Could have cost me paid gigs, could have cost us any number of opportunities and it ultimately was not fair. No matter how it looked on the outside, we got fucked and that's all there was to it. MY POINT. There are fucking lunatics on this planet and they get even crazier online. Without personal knowledge of the situation or a more detailed account you really have no clue what actually went on. Pretending you do is silly and is probably damaging someones career. It's not right and it needs to stop.
Ed_David
Yea while we are at it let us also end the witch hunt over bill cosby and close this thread! Bill Cosby should be seen as innocent even though 18 women or so have come forward.Let's give Bill Cosby the benefit of the doubt until there is clear evidence No and i was a huge Bill Cosby fan as i was also a giant phil bloom fan. He brought dslr shooting to the masses. He helped democratize filmmaking. It saddens me to reach this point. But i cant condone any sort of violence in my own filmmaking online nerd community And i ask all of you to not turn a blind eye. To not take the middle road. Is phil bloom bill cosby bad? In my eyes...yes. thats so sad.I feel so bad for all. And all the pain i have brought you guys to have to come out of your f stop shells and not think about nab and all the new toys. To have to think about what it means to have someone you respected turn out to not be the person you wish he was.I will miss phil's smile and his reviews. Goodbye Bill Cosby and now goodbye philip bloom.
Lammy
Whoooa Ed, for reals? Bill Cosby has multiple sexual assault and rape allegations. Philip Bloom has been accused of using the cunt word and throwing objects. I'd probably put Philip Bloom just below Sean Penn and Nicolas Cage (and those guys actually got arrested for it!) Neumann Films
LOL...the 5 minute Vimeo short video auteur calling people camera nerds while he trolls a camera forum. The irony is too much. When's the sequel Eddie?

By two women.Bill Cosby has been accused of drugging and having sex with unconscious women - without their consent - by over 17 women. And trolling is when you anonymously post on a forum and say derogatory things, like a few have said on here. I am not hiding. The sequel is coming its called, "no one wants to watch a video on the environment including this one" - also "the internet forum is for men" which may be interesting - also a bunch of other projects I'm working on. j.f.r.
@ Ed David stop judging a man/woman as you have no right, you are not the law and let alone have you been presented with all of the facts. One thing is not to agree with certain actions, the other is what you are doing here. I can assure you, your actions will follow you, so be very very careful the energy you put out into this world, especially negative....... Lammy
Yes. Specifically "cunt" and throwing objects at her directly were stated examples of the mental and physical abuse. The alleged bruising explained by, Philip's rather callous use of word, a "scuffle". I see where you're going that both Bill and Phil are accused of wrong doing where accusers took a long time to come forward... but all I'm saying it's strong to put those on the same level as allegedly raping over 17 women!!And I am all for helping you on the documentary if you need. As I said earlier, I am disappointed that there are still people quick to judge and attack Sara. I said people, because at least 2 out of 10 were women... [look at her FB and Kesslar's FB and general Cosby fans...]

We are the closest thing we will ever get to real honest justice and truth. The law has failed us time and time again.I am okay with anyone judging all of my actions and me judging theres. I wish more people judged others. Less people minded their own business . I started my production company kitty guerrilla films with this matra. I will not be silent if others are around me and i hold myself to this. And words. I am not afraid of anything i have said re bill cosby or philip bloom or ray rice. animan
If i am a force of bad or nothing then i feel worse. At least answer the question from a page back about how youre gonna react if youre proven to be wrong?Youve got one thing totally wrong in any case, this isnt a fight between those who want to protect women and those who want to ignore abuse against them. Ed_David
At least answer the question from a page back about how youre gonna react if youre proven to be wrong?Youve got one thing totally wrong in any case, this isnt a fight between those who want to protect women and those who want to ignore abuse against them.If evidence comes out that supports Philip Bloom and discredits both women via the court of law or some other smoking gun, I would apologize publicly and privately.Judging people is an important part of life - you can let people be free to do what they want as long as it doesn't impede others. For instance, I believe that it is wrong for a person to physically or mentally abuse someone else. If I witness this, I will say something.Others may take a stand on other issues, such as climate change, economic disparity, gender issues, etc etc - and they should.I don't like people who are sheep.Sheep allow bad people to get away with a lot of stuff. Here in the US, because of a lot of silence, George W Bush and Cheney and Rumsfield literally got away with torture.Because enough people did not speak up, we also went to an unnecessary and costly and deadly war in Iraq. There were no weapons of mass destruction.I am calling on all of you, and myself, to not be sheep.I will never regret saying that. Now what does this have to do with EOSHD - a forum for filmmakers? This is a place for filmmakers to talk about filmmaking - and politics is part of filmmaking. So is being present and observing. Am I being negative - no, I am taking a negative situation and trying to find the positive in it - to create change for good. Life isn't black and white - sometimes you have to pick a side. Not picking a side is picking a side.
Ed_David
This thread would be high comedy if a couple of people on here were not really psychotic.Ed David - you're out of your motherfucking mind. A loon. I hope for your sake that Bellevue Mental Hospital is still open in NYC. And, if they won't lock you up, I hope Phillip Bloom SUES you for slander. You're all over the 'net, talking shit and making Bloom look like Ted Bundy, but anyone with half a brain knows who the real loser is.C'mon, Reid, you must know by now that this cat is nuttier than a fruitcake. And worse, he's an asshole of the highest order.Hopefully Bloom doesn't list EOSHD in his lawsuit (no doubt coming) and takes this site down. At the very least, the absolute minimum, I sincerely hope Bloom finds you at NAB and beats the living shit out of you.Fucking Pathetic, Dude. Ah soo good - that made me laugh a lot, L-Aif you want to see me there, I'll be at the Red cine booth, hanging out with my pal Jim Jinnard.Or also I'll be at the Vimeo booth - under the "whiney white guy from nyc short film booth who does test videos of my dogs."Hope to see all there. Especially Bloom - and can't wait for him to "beat the living shit of me." Maybe he can finish the job!

Neumann Films
"If I witness this, I will say something."Exactly. Why do you think I am confronting you about your posts? You're attacking someone that isn't here to defend himself based on a Facebook post. You know NOTHING of the situation yet you are here bad mouthing the guy. Kicking him while he is down. Putting him in the same category as Bill Cosby. Shame on you, Ed. Have some self awareness. You'd think, as a filmmaker, you would at least be able to see the other side of this. Why would so many other like minded people be opposing you here? We are all sheep? We all choose to stand idly in the face of abuse? You're the only person around here with a conscience?Shame.
