Simon Shasha
HERE:https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/pro...era/techspecs/$995One thing to really take note of is that the user can select between rolling and global shutter.
andrgl
HERE:https://www.blackmagicdesign.com/pro...era/techspecs/$995One thing to really take note of is that the user can select between rolling and global shutter.Which gives it a range between: 30 to 60 fps.I wonder if dynamic range is affected by changing from rolling to global shutter. This is exactly the camera I wanted after the Alexa Mini was announced. I'm not worthy Blackmagic.

AaronChicago
Does anyone know if this sensor has been used in their previous cameras? Is the same one from the pocket cam?
Guest Ebrahim Saadawi
Does anyone know if this sensor has been used in their previous cameras? Is the same one from the pocket cam?Nope. They do share the s16 dimension, 1920x1080 resolution, 13 stops of DR, this sensor is Global shutter. Hope it doesn't affect image quality negatively! I loved the pocket image & if this is the same + no wobble it'd be really lovely.

The Pocket uses a Fairchild cmos, from what I've read, it seems to be this one:http://www.fairchildimaging.com/files/data_sheet_cis_1910f_0.pdfThis sensor supports Global Shutter and Rolling Shutter. It is possible that they just changed the image processor in the new camera to support both modes and higher framerate.
