Axel
Wrong in your chart: The FS7 does 4k, not just UHD. Tested the camera today (borrowed). -FS7 has E-mount, which can adapt to EF & PL if user is comfortable with adapters, plus it's the only one that can takes a SB and efectively be FFThese are all extremely important information for buyers. It can use the Metabones EF "Ultra" (latest version) reliably only with lenses with manual aperture. I had read this before and couldn't believe it, but it's true. More often than not, the lens (we tested four new original Canon lenses) loses contact with the camera, and to influence aperture at all, you have to unmount it and put it on again. The original Sony lens is slow, produces videoish images and has no good AF, the only good thing is it's zoom. The specs are a something to remember when you hit the hard ground of reality. j.f.r.
Didn't say they are on the same level. I said they were designed for similar purposes, which is accurate.Every camera is designed for the same purpose , some just do it better than others
Guest Ebrahim Saadawi
It's true. The FS7 is great on paper but I haven't seen a single user/tester (not owner) who wasn't frustrated somehow significantly with the camera operation. Owners tend to defend and rationalize their investment even on a subconcious level.
Jonesy Jones
Every camera is designed for the same purpose , some just do it better than othersIs the Red designed for the same thing as the FS7, or vice versa? I would say the FS7 is way better at some things, and the Red at others. And the Red, Alexa, and yes Blackmagic are designed for similar applications, as opposed to the FS7 and C300. Guest Ebrahim Saadawi
New FS7 firmware allowed 4K DCI internally at 60p. And again C30mk II HD frame rate is 120p not 60p. Put the words (sensor crop) next to the 120p. That's an important mistake im the article, C300 does do 120p at 2K. With these two fixes this chart should be fixed at the front page of all camera sites and stores! Makes it so easy to get a look at a glance instead of hours searching. I just researched this some more and you are correct. It's late. Will get these changes in tomorrow.
