fabre8
Hello, I recently ordered a Schneider Kreuznach WA Cinelux Anamorphic 2X lens and I was wondering what type of Lens support I should get? I saw the Tecnoir lens holder on eBay, but it seems to be the ONLY on rails support I can find. It is also more expensive than the price I paid for the lens....Can anyone provide me with any information as to were I could find a suitable Holder/adapter I could use to mount this baby on rails? Thanks!
anti12
You can use those cheap parts to build your Cinelux support:http://www.ebay.com/itm/DSLR-15mm-1-4-and-3-8-Thread-Tripod-Mount-Plate-Rail-Block-Rod-Clamp-5D2-5D3-/281667005669?http://www.ebay.com/itm/Tripod-Mount-Ring-for-Canon-EF-100mm-f2-8-f-2-8Macro-/250827007518?orhttp://www.ebay.com/itm/Tripod-Baseplate-Plate-Mount-For-Follow-Focus-15mm-Rods-Rail-Support-System-5D2-/171000567512?http://www.ebay.com/itm/FOTGA-DP3000-Tripod-Mount-15mm-Rod-Support-Base-Plate-for-DSLR-Rig-Follow-Focus-/331020232705?I used some of those in my experiments dahlfors and buggz
fabre8
That's Fantastic! I'll order some right away, although I'll look at UK prices and sellers since I'm based there Is this setup easy to handle? Any alterations that you had to do? How do you thread the Anamorphic lens to the camera lens? Sorry to ask so many questions, but you seem to have the exact setup Im after You're a life saver! anti12
Didn't find it very practical, I moved on to a more expensive single focus solution. My Nikon lenses extend while focusing so I never connected them to the CineluxI tried to close the gap with a rubber lenshood. But If you like to use step-up rings: The thread on the Cinelux is 68mm.The Tripod Mount Ring is a little bit to wide so I used some Tape. You can also try to drill threaded holes for nylon screws.2x Tripod Mount Rings might help to keep the Cinelux from twisting sideways when not connected to a taking lens.Good Luck! ken
Schneider Kreuznach WA Cinelux Anamorphic is a big lens, not ES, similar to ISCO HD attachment. Just order the close size (must be bigger) tripod mount support.
eris
God that thing is huge. Glad I found a Bolex. I just use a little lens support I got from Lanparte and probably don't even need that. It just takes a little weight off the filter threads and lens mount and makes it much easier to focus.
rook
But If you like to use step-up rings: The thread on the Cinelux is 68mm. Where on earth did you find a 68mm step up ring?
anti12
Where on earth did you find a 68mm step up ring?I didn't.When I moved to the Focus Module for Cinelux there is a 72mm to 68mm step-down ring in the set.

Hannes Famira
Rafcamera offers step-up rings especially made for Schneider Cinelux. I highly recommend those as even if you get the diameter right the steps between the threads is non standard. This one fits on the back of my Schneider Cinelux-ES: M67x0.75 to M67.7x0.7 step-up ring for Schneider-Kreuznach Cinelux-Ultra 90mm https://rafcamera.com/adapter-m67x0-75m-to-m67-7x0-7f That way you can actually mount it on your taking lens. You won't find any other step-up ring with a 0.75 thread.
