Ed_David
This is a inexpensive LED flare light option - super super powerful and $140 quid on amazon US - creates very nice flares and good color - I use this a lot now on a bunch of jobs. Neat idea. Anyone have any links to what this looks like in the final footage?

AaronChicago
Didn't JJ Abrams do this on Star Trek? Intentionally shining a beam into the anamorphic lens to create the streaks?
Cinegain
Actually inexpensive would be something 18650 powered. Like something with a XM-L2 U3 BIN (e.g. UltraFire C8).DISCL. Not sure at which lumens of exposure your sensor could fry though, so try at own risk
Liszon
Yes, I have one of those pocket torches from Ebay. It was something like £15. It says 1000 lumen, well most people doupt it gives you even half of that, but what I can say it's mega bright anyway. Works from 3xAAA or 18650.That's the one:http://m.ebay.co.uk/itm/300952024248Even cheaper now, and they say it's 2200 lumen, hehe.
