hoodlum
This is a bit surprising from Leica. I wonder if this would also work for the LX100. https://leica-camera.com/en-int/photography/cameras/d-lux/d-lux-8/downloads
eatstoomuchjam
They didn't open source the firmware. They are following the legal obligations associated with the licenses of open source modules that they used. https://leicarumors.com/2024/07/23/the-new-leica-d-lux-8-camera-is-open-source-code-available-for-download-on-leicas-website.aspx/

ac6000cw
Inside https://leica-camera.com/sites/default/files/leica-dlux_8-oss-sourcecode.zip are these compressed files, which appear to be basically just the Linux OS related files (and note the 2017 dates on them): eatstoomuchjam
eatstoomuchjam
Those are, indeed, some really ancient versions of things. The good news could be that there are probably known vulnerabilities/exploits in software that is so old. If there are any services (web server, etc) listening on there, the camera might be hackable. Administrators Andrew Reid Posted July 25, 2024 Administrators Share Posted July 25, 2024 Best off hacking the Samsung NX1 which is fully Linux. I still have the source code for that if anyone is interested
