Jimmy
Oh oh.... I thought the slew of slo-mo was insane after the fs700 launch.... Prepare for an avalanche.
Super Members Mattias Burling Posted July 14, 2015 Super Members Share Posted July 14, 2015 If I was getting one of them for Slowmotion it would be the rx100iv.That 2 second high quality thing looks cool and you get a point and shoot as well. But I would get tired of the slowmo within a day
tugela
Oh oh.... I thought the slew of slo-mo was insane after the fs700 launch.... Prepare for an avalanche.Until it gets old. Current cameras can do up to 120 fps footage now, but other than the routine test clips people do, it does not appear to be used much. Mat Mayer
Quite an enjoyable thread. But I just looked at the prices for the memory cards and will try to forget about this camera now. Out of my league as a few cards would cost the same as the camera.

jpfilmz
Behind the scenes 4k footage shot on the XC10. Doesn't look bad...but doesn't look 4k to me. deezid
jagnje
looks great to me, too bad about the average lens.

Oliver Daniel
Oh oh.... I thought the slew of slo-mo was insane after the fs700 launch.... Prepare for an avalanche. Most of it will be terrible - along with all the "smartphone look" 4k shots of buildings, leaves, trees etc. (cats get away with it, because they are awesome). Jimmy
It is just too hard to resist. When I got my FS700, it is all I shot for a week or so (even slo-mo cats!)Now I rarely push above 50p

deezid
Behind the scenes 4k footage shot on the XC10. Doesn't look bad...but doesn't look 4k to me. This camera maybe achieves 1080p resolution but fails to deliver 4k completely. Looks like garbage compared to my GH4 shots (or even higher resolution NX1 or BMPC footage)... Still has that cheap HDSLR look, dynamic range doesn't impress me either, but seems to be better than in other examples shown in this thread. A GH4 can produce much better footage (sharpness and nr down to -5).Watched the final movie done with the C300MKII though. Looks fine to me, as detailed as my GH4 but with much better dynamic range. Jimmy
I wonder how many of you saying it to is not proper 4K have shot on RED? It is soft as hell until you tweak in post.Pin sharpness looks kind of unnatural anyway

Super Members Mattias Burling Posted July 15, 2015 Super Members Share Posted July 15, 2015 Maybe you should get glasses then.I don't belive for a second you can tell 4k from HD on youtube. I've done plenty of blind tests with lots of people including on avsforum where they usually peep pretty deep and so far no one can.

The C300 mk2 footage looks great to me though. But XC10 simply isn't worth its price and easily outperformed by much cheaper cameras! gelaxstudio
Jimmy
"Easily outperformed" on paper....The most important "feature" (at least for some) is the image though. I can trade in some resolution, some slow motion options etc etc for a beautiful image. That said, the lens is just too slow for the sensor size.... It is a deal breaker. Not sure what they were thinking really.
Jimmy
Just watched the above on our 4K screen... It is a bit soft. Without knowing their post choices though, it seems a bit soon to judge. (Youtube creates alot of mud too)
