zlfan
The Z50 II offers a better video mode than the Z50 and is definitely the one to buy if you're predominantly a videographer. The original model offered 4K/30p and Full HD/120p recording modes. The new Z50 II offers 4K/60p, albeit with a 1.5x crop, 4K/30p oversampled from 5.6k with no crop, and Full HD/120p. It also provides 10-bit N-Log for the first time ever on a DX camera, along with the ability to use RED Luts. There is a red video record light on the front of the Z50 II and a red framing border is displayed on the LCD screen when recording. The Z50 II has a 2x Hi-res zoom for full HD video with 11 zoom speeds. There is no loss in resolution, unlike a digital zoom, because the camera records in 4K first then converts to 1080p. Sound is also improved on the Z50 II, thanks to its built-in stereo mic and the option to attach an external mic. It also offers an onboard wind-noise reduction function and a headphone socket. Al Dolega
Has waveform too! Looks like Nikon isn't reserving the video goodies for the FF/higher-end bodies. IronFilm

If you enable EIS (it has no IBIS) that adds an additional crop. Ninpo33 and Juank

Super Members BTM_Pix Posted Friday at 08:26 AM Super Members Share Posted Friday at 08:26 AM BLE timecode as well. Tricky for them in the market they’re going for with the limited number of DX format Z mount lenses (even with Sigma now pitching in) up against the big back catalogues of Fuji and Sony. They’ve likely bundled it with the wrong kit lens for them too as the wider 12-28mm might be more appropriate for the walk and talk merchants. Hopefully they will update the Zfc to a mark ii with these new additions too.

It's less expensive to give the features to all the cameras than to go and change the code to remove features. I think Nikon need to make some faster DX lenses to go with their cameras. f/3.5-6.3 zooms are quite limiting. Sigma does make a few fast primes for DX which are also available in Z mount cameras. Ilkka Nissila
I just remembered that Nikon does make 24/1.7 for DX, and 26/2.8, 28/2.8, and 40/2 which are quite small lenses and probably attractive for this camera. Sigma make 16 mm, 30 mm and 56 mm f/1.4 primes also for DX and available on the Z mount, but they're not quite as small. A faster zoom would be nice. Marcio Kabke Pinheiro
DX Z-mount needs ASAP the Sigma 18-50 f/2.8. For primes, I guess that Viltrox will be one of the bigger sellers. About the Z50 II - solid camera for the price. But would be even beter with an IBIS for $100 more. IronFilm
ND64
Apparently at 4k30p you hit the 2h05m limit sooner than overheating warning, hence bigger body. Regarding lenses, they patented a compact 16-48 f/2.8 design few years ago, I don't know why they don't make it.

Plenty of small cameras have very decent IBIS. I don’t think it’s reasonable to expect every single feature from a high end camera and have it packaged in a tiny body at 1/2 the price, but seems an odd thing to not have in this day and age. Some pretty disappointing camera launches this year, but then to be fair, most have been aimed at the lower end of the market. The Zf for me has been the stand out and toying with picking one up again as a personal camera if I can work out how to also use it for work, ie, justify it… Ninpo33
ac6000cw
Is suspect the reasons for leaving out IBIS (other than the Mk 1 didn't have it) are cost and weight e.g. the Sony ZV-10 ii doesn't have it either. But it's still larger and heavier than the A6700 and X-S20 (which have IBIS), and has the worst battery life out of the three. Nikon seem to be targeting the ZV-10 ii & X-M5 market price area but with the EVF as added value (in exchange for heavily cropped 4k60p, a larger & heavier body and less extensive moderately priced lens choices). Prices from Wex in the UK: Size/weight/battery life spec extracts from dpreview.com: Z50 ii: A6700: X-S20: zlfan

A good move, I should say. And with the dedicated button to switch custom picture profiles in the Z50 II, now oficially Fujifilm (which created the market for "filmish" picture profiles) is the worst brand if you want to use custom picture proflies. Great job, Fuji.
