What camera do you use the 90 and 135mm with? @Ninpo33 I Currently have the Fuji X-M5 and the LUMIX S5 with adapters for both with either a GFX100s or a S1Rii on the way next. Still getting used to the little Fuji and haven’t tried the 90mm or 135mm on there yet. I have a m42 speedbooster for Fuji from Kipon but it’s been getting stuck on the camera and I worry about damage. Plus it’s a little ridiculous on the tiny little body. PannySVHS
The 28mm and the XM5 should be a treat. S5 and the 135mm on sticks would lovely, maybe even in S35. I'm getting exited to test my S1H on sticks with the 90mm. @Ninpo33 S1RII, like the S1H before, could be the h264 and h265 camera of the year besting all other Dslms in these codecs up to Iso 12800. All Intra h264 and Prores HQ should provide pretty much the same quality anyway. Can a variety of crops be used for Prores Raw, like S16, S35 and 4to3 ratio? Yes, even with the adapters and speedboosters the wides are pretty compact. I would like to do a shootout with all the various Vivitars and find the best ones. I just recently discovered the older Soligor lenses built by Tokina as well. All f/2. And yes, S1Rii has Prores in all the different crop modes I believe. That's been in and out of my shopping basket numerous times and in some ways, is the ultimate option for stills. My stills needs anyway. The ONLY thing that has really stopped me has been lenses. Just how do I get a small/light/compact kit that can cover everything from 20-200mm providing nothing slower than f2.8 FF equivalent and no smaller than 24mp at the long end... With MF Fuji, the body can do it, but the lens/whole system, not quite, or rather the compromises are ones that I am not prepared to make. Having said that, a pair of the things with a set of 3-4 primes and... aaaaargh, nooooooo. Change for me at this point in time has to bring something quantifiably useful because my needs have already been met. It's interesting looking though and I think sensible to at least look at any and all options because that in itself can sometimes provide a creative aspect not previously considered. So I look and I consider. Why not just buy it without trading or selling anything? You will still have the cameras that met your needs and then another tool you can warm up to. Is it the thrill of the chase? The hope that the next camera will finally make your coffee and take the shots for you? Or do you just enjoy keeping your local camera shop in business? No judgment, just trying to understand the mindset!
MrSMW
None of the ^above^ just no harm/enjoyment in considering alternative options. Same as if I owned a Porsche, - wouldn't stop me looking at the latest Aston on-line, at a car show or simply parked up in the street and then wishing I had a bigger garage. And bank balance. I sometimes look at multi-million currency yachts and houses I will never own, plus more affordable ones I could if I wished. Call it an 'enthusiasm for the industry as a whole'. Or a cry for help. I know. I never put much stock in this "test proceedure" - much more interested in real life use examples. But the reduction shown is notable too. Seems like it hinges upon filming with a 1.1x crop is the goldilocks when rolling shutter motion is a concern. Hopkins claims to be in conversations with Panasonic about a firmware that would allow 1.1x to be chosen at framerates of 30p and below.

When you see a latitude or color test video on Youtube, do you take that as proof that "the next wave of cinematic storytelling" will now be models standing still holding color charts? They are pretty silly not to have a reduced rolling shutter 24p mode straight off the bat to avoid the bad publicity. Just run the sensor in the 6K 48p mode with 1/48 shutter and conform in-camera to 24p. Job's a good-un. Walter H

Only a month ago we thought we were getting SL3 sloppy seconds. Up til now Panasonic's most consistent weak spot has been AF and now hilariously AF isn't even in the discussion. Rolling shutter is a non-issue in that many other cameras have the same limitation. There's nothing remarkable about the S1RII's RS worth multiple Gerald videos. What I see most consistently in commentary about the S1RII is that it's not an S1HII. The S1RII is taking flack for not being the camera the online crowd wants the most from Panasonic.
