Emanuel
My fav personal capture device in March 2025 is my lightweight and really small FX30, guess also why? ; ) For the price of a Viltrox 27mm f/1.2 you buy three primes from 25mm up to 56mm, just 1 stop and a quarter slower, but for also for more than a quarter (4.5x less) of the weight! I've already posted here elsewhere (another combo from there has already made me to immediately pull the trigger on that Pancake to play anamorphic dreams... who doesn't love light glass?) but now I believe it deserves its own thread and (y)our attention... https://viltrox.com/collections/air-series-lens Here's some honest entry to my book, he even places a disclaimer in the beginning announcing he got it for free : ) which doesn't bother me at all, his time and work is not, I figure the model neither ; ) Ah and they say this time (rather than the previous f/1.4 series for the 35mm and 56mm so with the exception of the 13mm f/1.4 already on the way to my backpack/pocket... and NOT for free! ; ) their AF is effective and silent, quiet like a mouse... Tim Sewell
Interesting fact - everybody thought they did the billboard stuff with Ai, but in fact they had to do it frame by frame themselves. Nice bit of film making, in my always humble opinion. Emanuel
Tim Sewell
@Emanuel I also love my FX-30. It just came back from 2 months in the camera hospital (a whole other story) but I just love that thing. A beautiful sensor and lovely ergonomics. And so relatively cheap! The C100 of its days. Lacks NDs, maybe if it had that then I'd call the FX30 "2025's C100". Perhaps it's more accurate to call the C70 "today's C100"? Either that or the FX6 itself. (although I'd say the FX6 is closer to today's C300mk1 than a C100) Maybe the FX30 is more like "today's Canon 60D" (the FX30 today is only a couple of hundred dollars more expensive than the inflation adjusted release price of the 60D was) Emanuel
