richg101
Here is 4 mins of footage that will be used to form a little promo video for a local festival. I shot in anamorphic because I thought it would work well with the theme. Edited on a mac - and it really has crushed those blacks and whites on export - looks more contrasty than in the premiere preview window. Some of the shots are beautifully sharp considering the anamorphic was a century 16:9 converter. the tokina helped a lot. other shots i miss focused slightly and it shows. I'm kind of glad this didnt turn into another blue flare bonanza. the lighting didnt cause too many flares so its more the organic feel the footage has that gives it the look i love so much about anamorphic. It's weird that some shots have bad edge aberrations and others dont. i am still to try a narrower lens to see if this helps. this was a 28mm, I want to test a 35mm to get the middle ground not quite as narrow as a fifty mil. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oty-WnEpuFA&feature=youtu.be - slam it to 1080p any feedback on the shots that should be binned please let me know! QuickHitRecord
Nice work, Rich. The anamorphic adds a lot of interest. Thanks for sparing us the flare-fest. I believe that anamorphic footage itself is a treat to watch, and having some soft (soft, not out of focus) shots is part of that. Flares are just icing. Thanks for sharing!
