HELP! SLR Anamorphot 1.33 and A7s (focusing)

Hey guys, I'm hoping to get some help here as I'm a newbie to shooting anamorphic (but I've been shooting and editing for six years now) 

I just received my SLR Magic Anamorphot and struggling to get it to focus to infinity, midway or even close ups with the diopters attached. I've read quite a bit and I know it takes a while to get a hold of, but my taking lens is a Canon EF 50mm 1.8 II and no matter where I focus it and then re focus the anamorphot I can not get anything reasonably close to in focus, the closest I got was when I stopped the lens down to f18 :-/

I found this video a while ago (which made me want to purchase the lens as it's the same set up I have now) so I just don't know what I'm doing wrong.

 

Any help is greatly appreciated.

When using + dioptre  is only for close focus (ie, +0.5 dioptre changes infinity to 2m),  no need for infinity focusing.
