I have a couple of hand me downdown 19" LCDs that are 1440x900 tn panels that work okay but was thinking of getting a 24 or 27" monitor that is more suited for video editing/photo work and to watch movies on. So far I've been looking at dells u2415, uz2715h, and u2715h. The uz model doesn't have its color specs listed but the other 2 are suppose to be pretty good. One is a 27" qhd resolution that is 16:9 that I thought might be better for watching movies on and be big enough to compare to the 24" 16:10 hd monitor. I've now read these monitors might not be good for watching movies on though cause their finish looks grainy or brings out the grain in movies, plus watching DVDs and blurays on a qhd would have to be upscaled which could affect quality. I use vlc or powerdvd for playback, and movie studio platinum 13 for editing. Can anyone comment on these for editing and watching movies? I also have 4k videos from the gh4 to watch. Thank you for your thoughts.
