I love this movie.It's the scene where MacReady is outside and approaches the tarped helicopter, and the wind causes the tarp to billow, giving it a life of its own -- very eerie....It's easy to quote clips from all the gory/crazy parts of this film, but it's the deliberate, measured pacing of these quiet scenes that charge up those moments with impact. All the lights and lighting changes in those submarines are fantastically dramatic. Thanks to the anamorphic bokeh and flares, the submarines truly become characters in their own right.
