j.f.r.
I would think so but maybe someone else can confirm. If anyone is interested in downloading a 4K VLog file from the camera I put one up on Dropbox:https://www.dropbox.com/s/dqt77smrousu9vkDynamic range looks nice, noise appears to be because of underexposure. I would definitely record slighter hotter to possibly help against this, even though we all pretty much know smaller sensor cameras usually display more noise than larger ones. AaronChicago
A user at Personal View pointed out that the Cineon Converter in Premiere is only 8 bit, instead of 32 bit. That is what causes the banding in the sky. The same shot with a 32 bit LUT applied gets rid of the banding. CTRT and Cinegain

AaronChicago
So applying the Cineon 3D LUT in Resolve may not show banding?I'm guessing no.
TheRenaissanceMan
I'm guessing no. ...so using it will show banding or won't show banding? We used double negatives and now I'm confused...hahaha.
johnnymossville
Aaron, Nice job, I just downloaded your clip and did a quick grade myself and I'm impressed! VLOG looks like a winner. I haven't played with it yet myself. been slammed at work with other projects. I hate to use the word, but yep. it's VERY FILMIC!

We used double negatives and now I'm confused...hahaha.I'm not sure it won't not, but if it doesn't, it might not be because it's not user error. Or the opposite could be true. AaronChicago
Slashcam has discovered that the Arri Log C to REC709 LUT curve is nearly identical to V Log. I've tried it briefly and it does look to be the best fit so far. CTRT
AaronChicago
Was at a family wedding this weekend. Applied the Alexa C LUT to see how it looks. Colors look nice although it leans toward a yellow tint. I added a little bit of magenta to balance it out. Liam
PannySVHS
Hey Aaron, great colors and shooting on your vid! Definately "cinematice":)Your captures above show posterization in the shadows. As Zak has shown, 10bit seems the way to go.In the 8bit 10bit VLOG thread, EOSHD user bunk recognized impact of white balance on the quality of the VLOG footage.Hopefully Zak can do some more 10bit testing.
