Rinad Amir
Well thats shame :/ still want something that shoots in lowlight is there specific adapters for E mount from Ef ? Like speedboosters
MattH
Well you could consider selling your 18-35 or keeping it for later and getting some other full frame glass. Or if you really want to use the 18-35 the A7r ii will probably be better for you: Aps-c mode is 4k dowsampled from a full apsc sensor readout. For this you would want something like the metabones e-mount to ef adapter (not speedbooster). Rinad Amir

DBounce
It remains to be seen if the A7sii will also overheat. In the interview with the Sony rep it was suggested that the A7r ii and A7s ii are identical in this respect. You need to work within the limits of the camera... And the limits of your talent. In most cases the latter will be the most important.
liork
I don't understand people who ask about 4K in crop mode. Look at the total number of pixels in this sensor and tell yourself the answer, its a simple math. Shield3

TSV
Yes it has it but its not 4k, only 1080pSorry for my ignorance and hijacking this thread. But there is no way to get 4K with the 18-35mm from Sigma? Even if you are using an adapter or speed-booster?
Liam
Do we know for sure that the crop mode will be 1080p? Or just not 4k..? Sorry, should be a simple google of the specs, but a7s with external recorder in crop mode gets you over 2k (upscaled) which would be nice to have in camera in the ii... hmcindie
count the pixels and you will understand why there wont be 4k in crop mode. It's about 2.7k right. They could upsample it to 4k easy. Like Alexa does.Besides cameras upsample / downsample all the time. Slowmo modes are usually lower than HD anyway and they upsample to HD (rx10 ii etc)

Even if you are using an adapter or speed-booster?You might be able to use a teleconverter (the oposite of a speed booster). Although you would have to check it worked with a lens this wide as they are obviously mainly used to extend the range of long lenses. And you will lose a stop of exposure with a 1.4 extender. BrorSvensson
Why not sell the 18-35 and get a 24-70 2.8? That way you have the same DOF and a much bigger focal range.
