AFP man and British DSLR shooter Ed Jones ended up on a porn shoot with his trusty 5D Mark II and a Sony wireless mic or two. It was a professional assignment.
In the resulting interview and behind the scenes report (see above) he was able to shoot a great looking, candid and intimate take on the set of the Hong Kong porno with the director and get some other shots too, like action shots.
The 5D Mark II is a very versatile camera, but no news yet on whether the producers of the film have any they can use themselves for more intimate shallow depth of field shots.
Ed’s news report is one of the most professional looking pieces of 5D Mark II work I have ever seen. It does put to rest once and for all the myth that DSLR video modes are not suitable for professional work or a professional look.
An international press agency man using DSLR for a professional assignment is a glowing endorsement of the DSLR revolution.
