Using a combination of optimised in-camera settings and a LUT file to apply the revised color science, Panasonic 4K cameras such as the GH4 and GX85 can benefit from Canon-standard colour and expanded dynamic range.
Skintones are greatly improved, giving life back to your subjects and flattering talent in front of the camera.
How it works
EOSHD Pro Color is based on the picture profile I developed for Sony cameras like the A7R II, which in turn was developed using the Canon C500, Canon 1D C and ARRI Alexa as a high-end reference for cinema-standard colour and skin-tones. However on Panasonic cameras, the profile is applied in post with a LUT file on your timeline. Optimised in-camera settings are used too (these are just a few simple changes) but the real magic happens with the LUT in just a few clicks.

To get around the limitations of Lumix cameras which don’t provide enough control over colour in-camera, we apply EOSHD Pro Color in post and this has the added bonus of making EOSHD Pro Color possible with previously shot footage.
EOSHD Pro Color maximises dynamic range on Lumix cameras without compromising colour – no need to dial down contrast to -5. Simply shoot on Standard and let EOSHD Pro Color take care of everything else in post.
EOSHD Pro Color is a universal fix for the Standard Panasonic Lumix color profile and can be applied to any kind of footage or scene.
The same LUT is applied to all clips, and it allows a broad range of controls on top of it in Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve and Final Cut Pro X:
- Exposure corrections
- Temperature and tint fine tuning
- Contrast and saturation adjustment
- Shadow and black level boost
