[youtube]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ffGBavFPXvw[/youtube] Berlin based band Bunny Suit (follow here on Facebook / SoundCloud) recently went into Temeplton Studio to lay down some tracks. We decided to shoot a live video of the recording which would then be synced up perfectly with the final mix of the tracks in post. The Sony A7S in this shoot is graded using the lovely “Manchester” LUT from James Miller’s Deluts pack. But there were 6 other cameras…

This article is the first in a series. Stay tuned for more NX500 coverage on EOSHD. I am currently shooting with what I think might just be the world’s most affordable interchangeable lens 4K camera. The Samsung NX500 in my hands is the final retail camera not a pre-production model. It’s running the final firmware V1.0 as well and shoots 4K!
This is probably the most revealing interview I can remember with a Canon exec. Barney Britton and Rishi Sanyal at DPR have asked not just tough questions, but the right questions! Canon imply a small GH4-like 4K camera is “under consideration” and they want to satisfy demand from the news media industry.
Here’s a new cinema camera, the Maestro by French electronics firm NexVision. They’re building a Super 35mm 4K camera backed by NVidia image processor and the same sensor as the AJA CION. The design concept is also very similar.
[vimeo]http://vimeo.com/120475177[/vimeo] Ferrari have a DNA. Cinema cameras have a DNA. You have to go back decades to see it evolve into the force it is today. For Ferrari it is the very specific engine sound and the looks. Arri are that spirit to cinema cameras. The DNA of the Sony FS7 is a compromise. Half EX1 and half cinema camera, the ergonomics of the buttons, dials and menus need a complete overhaul in my opinion. So Sony…
[vimeo]http://vimeo.com/119633102[/vimeo] The KineMAX 6K cinema camera is nearing a release and I might have my hands on a prototype soon here in Berlin (I happen to be down the road from my friends at HDVideoShop who are the official European dealer). This is a significantly higher spec cinema camera on paper than anything else under the price of a Red Dragon for now. Kinefinity have just released the first 6K footage…
[vimeo]http://vimeo.com/119331030[/vimeo] The Canon C300 (currently reduced to $11,500) was the $15,000 stalwart of the professional videographer, only recently did it have a compelling rival – the Sony FS7. The Samsung NX1 is essentially a cutting edge 4K Super 35mm sensor in a mirrorless camera, recently given a video oriented firmware update which improves dynamic range and the available image profiles. I was curious to see how the images from these cameras compared and I put my Canon…
Canon Watch and Canon Rumors have posted the London press release for the 50 megapixel Canon 5Ds. It omits any mention of video. Has it been quietly dropped now Canon have the Cinema EOS range?
