The €3199 KineRAW MINI is the latest affordable raw cinema camera to be released. Featuring a 4K Super 35mm sensor it is a rival to the Blackmagic Production Camera and an alternative to shooting raw on the 5D Mark III with Magic Lantern. It shoots 2K / 1080p Cinema DNG uncompressed raw internally. Having now spent more time with the camera for the full review (coming soon), I was curious to…
Adobe have the best debayer for raw around. I still convert my 5D Mark III and Blackmagic Cinema Camera raw files from DNG to an editable format in Adobe After Effects because the end result looks better than DaVinci Resolve. Well as of today with Premiere CC update 12.1 Cinema DNG raw video is an editable format, directly in Premiere – dramatically speeding up the workflow for video shot with…

It is not just…
Rarevision are the creators of 5DToRGB, and developer Thomas Worth has today released an early beta version of their converter for 5D Mark III raw files on the Mac.
A professional workflow for 5D Mark III raw is now available. GoPro CineForm Raw offers 10:1 compression and can be edited directly in Adobe Premiere and Blackmagic DaVinci Resolve 9. Adobe Cinema DNG brings a Blackmagic Cinema Camera style workflow to the 5D Mark III and is ideal for grading uncompressed raw in DaVinci Resolve.
The D16 Digital Bolex – pictured above in the hands of the biggest 16mm advocate of all, Darren Aronofsky Does the Digital Bolex have Blackmagic on the back foot? A friend Roald Christesen recently got in touch, to share some footage shot with the CCD in the upcoming Digital Bolex. He’s a developing new Cinema DNG transcoding software and has been testing the sensor as part of that process. The image…
