https://vimeo.com/17987299 In the last few weeks I’ve been locked away in a dark studio in Berlin working just on EOSHD.com, but I also found time with my resident music-producing mate to make this video, shot with the available lighting in the studio:
Browsing: panasonic gh1
[vimeo]16106480[/vimeo] Some say Tarkovsky shot with them. Some say that even rubbish DPs can look cool with a pair. Some say a German lens company named Hawk stole the guy who designed them. All I know is – they’re Russian anamorphic lenses from the 1970’s.
The GH1 could be turned into a high-tech 3D camera suitable for broadcast use at the BBC and Sky, if the efforts of one company are anything to go by. The company, named Beampath, has recently been working on a 3D rig for the Panasonic GH1 and is seeking collaborators.
There is a new aspect to consider when shooting video on DSLRs. According to sensor benchmarking solution provider DXOMark, the Panasonic GH1 is the only camera which understates it’s actual ISO sensitivity relative to the competition.
[vimeo]13984616[/vimeo] I’ve recently been doing some web design work for a small British online cosmetic retailer called Unique Luxe In order to better market themselves and to boost sales through their own branded website, rather than just via the very price sensitive eBay and Amazon Market Place, I’ve recommended that they concentrate on putting content on the website and creating videos for sharing sites to drive traffic.
Canon have their lines, Panasonic have their lines. Usually we think of hardware as being the main differentiating factor between product ranges. But recently, we have had some unusual situations occur.
Tools have become available to reverse engineer the Panasonic GH1’s firmware and to create custom camera features, much like the Magic Lantern hack for the 5D Mark II.
[vimeo]10949526[/vimeo] Thought I’d do a Bob Dylan video! Philip Bloom recently shot a short near the coast with the latest Panasonic broadcast camera – the HPX370. To see how the humble GH1 compares on a similar shoot I went along to see the north coast of Taiwan at Gingshang taking along my GH1 and simply the kit lens.
