Canon’s new Cinema EOS camera is here and it is 5D Mark II inspired in terms of design although not price! Costing over $16,000 the Canon EOS C300 has a far more compact and less cluttered design than the Sony FS100 or F3. The camera takes on the look of a DSLR with built in EVF. The camera will be available in January 2012.

[vimeo]http://vimeo.com/31175496[/vimeo] I have just arrived in Shanghai and earlier in the week Canon brought their new 1D X to London. I didn’t get a look at it since I was busy travelling but Dan Chung has this excellent look at the camera with Mike Burnhill of Canon Europe discussing its various aspects.
I have always wondered what a Sony product would look like if it had the full force of their technology behind it. Have Sony just killed the Alexa? It certainly seems so. With a January release date the Sony F65, and set to be shown at the IBC in Amsterdam this week – the F65 is the successor to the Sony CineAlta F35.
Fuji had a preproduction X10 (a baby X100) at the IFA show today. This is a superb compact which does 1080p and I think they have bettered the Canon G12.
Above: Sony A77 with new Zeiss 24mm F1.8. I have been in England this past week and survived the riots thankfully! Updates will be back to their normal speed from this week as I’m back to my other home, the much more gentle city of Berlin! Also a quick shout out to anyone else who will be in Berlin this week – Philip Bloom is in town for Cam Busters…
SonyAlphaRumors have had a huge Sony horde of leaks including the first images of the production Sony NEX7, a camera likely to blow the GH2 and Fuji X100 into the dust. It launches alongside a new video optimised Zeiss 24mm F1.8. With 1080/60p at 28Mbit, the NEX7 is  pro mirrorless camera with 24 megapixel sensor and metal body. It maintains the small size of the NEX5 but with more manual control,…
Apple Insider reports that FCP-X is being readied for the App Store and will be released in the final week of June 2011. Slightly less highly anticipated but of just as much intrigue is that Apple are said to be releasing an as yet revealed Thunderbolt product alongside FCP-X. What could it be?
Above: “If only I hadn’t had bought that GF2 last week” The video itself that the above frame (click it to enlarge) was taken from is awful so I will spare you it – a slideshow of a pop-star photo-shoot, it does however show off the new Panasonic GF3 in all it’s glory on YouTube. What do we know so far?
