Looking back at my photography I think over half of the shots I really treasure are from my iPhone, which is quite amazing for a fixed lens camera with a tiny sensor and no manual control.
Right now a lot of DSLR reviews mislead on high ISO noise. For example most recent Nikon D5100 reviews have a range of cropped colour chart samples shot under bright studio lights at different ISOs. Surprise, ISO 3200 looks great. In real life it doesn’t!
The Canon 600D review – or should I say, the Canon 60D review revisited. There is no denying that the 600D is a very similar camera but that it also brings some new features not seen in the 550D or 60D, especially for video.
If you’d only go on eBay’s prices you’d assume the Iscorama anamorphic lenses had God-like properties. Maybe they’d part water with their patented easy focus mechanism. Could they heal a leaper with their flare? Possibly the hallowed Iscorama is able to bless you with a cinematic image.
UPDATE: Watch sample footage from the 3-10x zoom video function here. Doesn’t look like a 1:1 crop mode on the GH2 unfortunately. So we have now all digested the news on Canon’s latest DSLR, the 600D… What’s new? Not much, it appears Canon have released a firmware update in the form of a new camera body.
